Band Camp, Week 2

Schedule, Week of 7/30/2018

Week 2 has a lot of bumps and adjustments due to performances! Please note the times!

Monday:
Rehearsal 8am-2pm (Lunch 11am-12pm)

Tuesday:
Performance at Ontario Convention Center, 8am CT. 1pm anticipated return time; pizza will be served at this time.
Scott Lang Leadership Workshop at San G, 3pm Bus out. 7pm anticipated return time.
Dress: Cajon polos or shirts (green/white/black T-shirts if you do not have any Cajon gear) and jeans.
Be sure to bring your permission slips!

Wednesday:
Freshman Orientation and Rehearsal 7am-4pm (Lunch 11am-12pm)
Dress: Cajon polos or shirts (green/white/black T-shirts if you do not have any Cajon gear) and shorts.

Thursday:
Rehearsal 8am-5pm (Lunch 12pm-1pm)

Friday:
Rehearsal 8am-3pm (Lunch 11am-12pm)
Potluck Preview Performance 5pm Call Time and Dinner.

Band Camp, Week 1!

Schedule, Week of 7/23/2018:

Notes:
-Be sure to stay well-hydrated throughout band camp. In addition to foregoing the dangers of dehydration in the heat, it will also help you keep alert and play your instruments better!
-Bring hats. Sunscreen strongly suggested!
-You will be turned away if you do not have water!
-We have scheduled our blocks to work around the weather. The weather is forecast to have highs above 100 degrees throughout this week!

Marching Exercises: Posture breakdown sequence (posture breakdown/tendus/slow ballones/pendulum swings), 8s and 8s, Rocket Science, Box Drill, Goalpost Exercise
12pm LUNCH
1:10pm-5pm: Music Block – Pep Music Crash Course, Opener Book

8am-12pm: Visual Block – Marching Basics Continued
Marching Exercises: Continuation of Prior Exercises, Circle Drill
Dance/Movement Exercises: Across the Floors (Coupe Walks, Chasses, Ronde de jambes), Leans and Lunges

1:10pm-5pm: Music Block – Pep Music Crash Course, Opener Book
Music: Smells Like Teen Spirit, Brain Stew, Rock Shorts, Sell Out, Opener

Wednesday:
8am-12pm: Visual Block – Visual Exercises and Tracking (Music and Marching)
